Meet our Teachers

OD_teachers Chris Chris Edwards – Mat 2 & 3
Before arriving in France in 1996, Chris taught in the infant/nursery sector in London for 16 years.  She began working for Open Doors in 2000 when her son attended the school. She has British/French nationality and was brought up in a bilingual environment as a child.  Her own children have successfully followed a bilingual programme.

Suzanne Barbat  Teaching Assistant Maternelle(Bac A2 – Lettres & Langues, BTS)OD_teachers Suzanne B
Suzanne has been with Open Doors since September 2008 as a teaching assistant on Wednesday mornings for the Mat 2 and Mat 3 classes.
She has a bilingual education, married to a French man and their bilingual daughter completed her primary education at Open Doors. With current experience teaching English in French schools successfully completing a course in child psychology, she fully understands the challenges of bilingual education today.

Faye Soulet  Class 1   OD teachers Faye
Faye has resided in France since 2013, after moving from her hometown of Brighton in the  UK. She has worked as an English tutor to both adults and children for many years and has taught English and Art part time at a local bilingual English school.
A resident of St Nom la Breteche, she lives with her French husband, her bilingual son and baby daughter.

Jackie Bourgin  Class 2OD teachers Jackie.png
Originally from New Jersey, Jackie has resided in France for 17 years.She holds a Bachelor of Arts diploma from William Paterson University ,NJ (USA) and a French language certificate from CLA (Centre de Linguistique Appliquee de Besancon).

Jackie has been an English language teacher with the Orgeval Acceuil for the past 3 years and an English language tutor for adults and children.Formally an Open Doors parent herself,she has 2 children who have graduated from our school.

Shirley Jones  Class 3OD teachers Shirley
Shirley holds a BSc Honours degree from Aston University , UK.
She joined Open Doors as a teacher in Sept 2014. She has taught English in both bilingual and French public schools for over 15 years. Her 2 children were educated in France and both now live and work in Abu Dhabi and Australia.

Claire FOSTER  Class 4
OD teachers Claire FA graduate of  Aston University in the UK, Claire has lived in France since 2000. She is trained in teaching English as a 2nd language and has taught in a bilingual school in France. She has also taught groups and individuals with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has given extensive private lessons. She has 2 children who follow a bilingual programme.

Suzanne ROSS  Class 5SUZANNE
Suzanne obtained a BA in Education at Melbourne University, Australia and also has  a CELTA certificate.

Suzanne is from Australia and has taught all levels as a Senior Teacher in primary and secondary schools. Since moving to Paris, she has tutored children and adults with a range of abilities.

Claire joined Open Doors in September 2015. She has a CACHE teaching assistant certificate and has worked in the UK as a teaching assistant for 5 years before moving to France.She has 2 children, a son who is at university in the UK and a daughter who is at school in France

Glenda PETIT  Reading Assistant glenda
Glenda has been living in France since 2013. She has a Diploma in Business Marketing and is currently an English home tutor and gives lessons to both children and adults. She also teaches English in her son’s college.

She is married to a French man and her 2 younger children both attend Open Doors.

She loves France and enjoys helping others, especially kids, to improve their English.
